The following is a transcription of the marriages, births and deaths of loved ones which were recorded on the pages of the family Bible of Josephine Wingfield (Davis) and William Paschal Henry, Sr. There was also a full page listing Negroes Births with dates between 1805-1858.
This list was prepared from photocopies of the tattered and torn originals. As of November 2004 April 2008 May 2009, the whereabouts of the original Bible (or the pages from it) is unknown. It is believed that the family heirloom was in the possession of Miss Laura Hamilton of Rockdale, Milam County, Texas at the time these copies were made.
Josephine was born and raised in Morgan County, Georgia. By the time of the 1860 census, she is in Brazoria County, Texas. Josephine marries Wm. P. Henry in March of 1864 in Brazoria Co. They are buried in the Murray Cemetery in Milam County, Texas.
