Dear Aunt
It is with pleasure I seat myself this beautiful evening to answer your kind letter which came to hand sometime ago.
We are all well at present. Charley and Matt has been having chills, but I believe they have stopped him. They are so busy housing their corn they haven't picked over the cotton the first time yet.
Vick Parker & Bob Minshaw married the 6th of Sept. Her mother was very much opposed to it. They say they did not ask anybody but there was about twenty-five there. They are living with Mrs. Grifith.
I went to the barbecue in Lexington last Saturday was two weeks ago. There was a good many people there but we came home and went to Prospect to preaching that night. It is four miles. There was five joined that night and among them was Mollie Nettles used to be Mollie West.
There were eight of us in the wagon that night and coming back one of the hind tires came off and we come about a mile and a half before we found it out and you may guess there were some scared children in that wagon. We got in sight of home we had to get out and walk and among us all there was cousin Axum Vick. He has but one leg. Well that is enough about our fun.
Well I have been to three quiltings this summer and am invited to another one Saturday at Uncle Thomases.
Aunt Nancy wanted to know who John's babe favored and if it is pretty. It favors Sallie & John both and I think it is a tolerable pretty baby. Aunt Julia's is about ten months old. It has two teeth and can sit alone.
Uncle Thomas had him a well dug about 55 feet deep in his yard and didn't get any water. He is going to now have it dug larger at the top about sixteen feet deep and have it walled with brick and cemented and having another one dug in the yard. He is going to have his share of sisterns. He has a good well a short distance from the house.
Well Mother got Letha's photograph. She received Aunt Nancy's letter a few days ago and will answer it in a few days.
Well I must close with much love to all yourself included. Write soon and all the news.
Della Vick
