The little woman rode down to Mother's to see her cousin John Connally who has just returned from the Army. he reports that Capt. ? was killed on the 17th inst. by lightning as well as the horse upon which he was riding while bearing a dispatch from his general officer. he was acting at the time as aid de campe. I finished the warping bar for the little woman. 26 Jun 1864. Today the little woman, children, Nellie and myself all rode down to Mother's and spent the day. while we were there Toby went in swimming and came near being drowned. John Connelly left Mother's for home riding Father's little mule pompy?
