Miss Amanda Boyd --
Dear Aunt --
I am now seated to answer your kind letter which came to hand some time ago. You must not think it negligence in me not writing. I did not do anything for about two weeks before Vicy was married. I could not write nor do any thing else.
She was married the second of November. Uncle Hartwell give her a little supper. They did not ask but four of five youngsters out of the family except Cousin Rachel and Cousin Exum and the Major Braswell.
What I mean by saying out of the family is we call the Sykes and John and Uncle Thomas. We call all them in the family. They did not ask any of Mr. Robert Sykes family except Alph and wife. I don't know their reason for it without it is because Mr. Sykes did not ask them to Victoria's wedding.
Vicy was dressed in dove colored dress. It was trimmed with white fringe. It is tight waist and a overskirt. I think it is a pretty dress but she got it ruint that night.
Vicy and Billy was going to live with John until Christmas. I don't know where they will live next year.
Mrs. Sallie Munroe has been very low. They had almost despaired of her life. She is a great deal better.
MPW/ Mr. Johnson Perry and Mrs. Griffith has come back from Caldwell. I have not seen them to hear from their Caldwell folks yet.
I heard that Robert Griffith was to be married to a Miss Sallie Castleberry. Mr. Castleberry is a close neighbor to Mr. Griffith. I think they are very nice people. (He) Mr. Castleberry has a grown son. I heard that he was going to see Lucy Griffith.
There was another marriage last week I received. Mr. Fletcher and a Miss _____.
They say Nelia has put hers off until next fall. From all signs it must be so. I wish they would all marry if they would give a nice supper and ask me.
What has become of Bettie Parham/Parnell(?) Do you ever see Bell. I would like to hear from her. Is Mary McNell going to school? What has Belia McNell named her babe? I don't never hear from Miss Sallie Millhouse and Miss Moody. What has become of them?
Papa and Uncle Hartwell are housing potatoes today. I must close. Present my kindest regards to all. All send you their love. Let me hear from you soon.
Also I will send some pieces of some dresses.
