Although our ancestors are not mentioned in the following meeting minutes, it is still interesting to read about what was going on in their neighorhood at the time they were living there. Belfield Henry (my 4th great-grandpa) is enumerated next door -- in Green County, Kentucky -- in 1810.

GLASGOW BOARD OF TRUSTEES
Barren County, Kentucky
Continuation of the business of the board of trustees of the city of Glasgow.
On the 10th August the same trustees met:
Henry CRUTCHER was to be paid $28.00 for buying a book and repairing the Big Spring;
Tho DICKINSON was paid $3.00 for his services as a Commissioner; the Judges and Clerks for the election were paid $2.75; W MARSH was paid $4.75 as clerk. The tax collector was paid 10% of all the money he collected. The Clerk to be paid $1.00 a day and to find paper to keep the minutes on.
Messrs. CULP & BIRD to be appointed Commissioners to superintend the repairing of Cross Street from the sign post to Thomas GOODALL's home.
The president was paid $2.00 for paying Joel YANCEY and Harden DAVIS for their services as Judges to the Election.
It was ordered that any person(s) who has a dwelling house, kitchen or shop in the city limits not having a brick or stone chimney has to have one built. It had to be at least 18 inches above the comb of the house. Also that all black smith, nailers?, gun smiths, silver smiths and cooper smiths shall have the top of their shop chimneys arched over - fine of $5.00.
