* Texas, Apr. 15. Supreme Court rules in Texas v. White that Union is insoluble and secession is illegal and unconstitutional.
* Washington, D.C., Feb. 27. Congress passed the 15th Amendment today, requiring all Southern states to allow Negroes to vote.
* New Brunswick, N.J., Nov. 13. Soccer rules were in effect, but the game was called football when Rutgers and Princeton clashed for the first time. . . . the Princetons romped to a 8-0 victory with help of a blood-curdling yell such as the Confederates used when they went into battle against the Union army.
